****************************************************************************************

We are very excited to have begun our children's ministry on Sunday September 19th, 2010! Please see below for dates and revised lessons*.

Our new curriculum is called "A Joyful Path Year 1". This is a new curriculum developed by the Centre for Progressive Christianity. We believe this curriculum more accurately reflects our theology here at St. Matt's. This is a spiritual curriculum for young hearts and minds. Each lesson begins with an affirmation (weekly message) such as "God is everywhere, within me and around me", and the children are going to be encouraged to remember these messages. We will have a story and follow up activities relating to the weekly message. We feel this help our children grow spiritually and take these messages into their daily lives.

We currently have four dedicated volunteers who are excited to be leading our children. We will be offering children's ministry approximately every two weeks.

* We have made some slight modifications to our curriculum schedule (see below).  The dates are the same, it is only the lessons that have changed.  We will also try to have some special Advent lessons around Christmas and will keep you posted on this.

Please let us know if you or your children have any comments on the program so far.  As it is a new curriculum, we are making adjustments as we go on to best suit our needs.  Any input would be welcome.

Thanks,
The Children’s Ministry Team
(Patricia, Sandra, Michelle and Emma)
